Coaster Design Contest
New Surly fan-designed coasters are now in bars!
The new Surly coasters designed by Michael Berglund, the winner of our 2nd Annual Coaster Design Contest, are on display, under pint glasses, at fine establishments that serve Surly.
Michael Berglund, is no amateur designer. He's the co-founder and co-owner of MNFX, a props, models, and effects studio in Minneapolis. After we met Michael, we found out that he's more than a killer designer; he's an avid homebrewer and an amateur paleontologist—yeah, he digs up dinosaur bones in his spare time. He's also got a lot of love for Surly. So we tapped him for some other design projects, including all of this year's SurlyFest art, a new Surly Gives a Damn logo, and all of this year's Darkness art. And there will be more to come.
It's good to know that when we need something done, we can always tap Surly Nation for some talent. Thanks to everyone who submitted a coaster design and we look forward to seeing what next year's contest will bring.
